Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and a businesswoman. She's co-founder as well as CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the writer of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality and owner of the online, independent newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington came to England together with her family around the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. She was the first person from outside the UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. After when she graduated, she was an important conservative journalist who was syndicated. After a few years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political climate. Her popularity has led to the attraction of many well-known contributors to post their perspectives on politics, news and other topics. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to run as an independent presidential candidate during the California recall election, to take over the then governor Davis. Also, she was the head of a Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in media. She was ranked 12th spot on the ranking. In the same year, the Guardian placed her in their Top 100 Media list. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and the post was made president by the media company. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the journalist who also works as a management consultant. The couple was close to her father. However, it is her bond with her mother which shaped her. Her leadership skills were evident even in her early years. Her move to England came at 16 to continue her education as well as enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college, where she was the 3rd and only female to hold the position of the president. In 1972, she graduated with master's degrees in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a columnist critic, and a television host. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also a highlight. She started writing books with his guidance to edit.
