Harry Edward Styles (also known as Harry Styles in the music world) is a British musician and a vocalist. Harry Styles was one of the founding members of One Direction. Born at Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England, on the 1st of February, 1994. He is the son of Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles, a former student of the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School was the founder of a band called White Eskimo along with three other students. In 2009 they participated in the Battle of Bands where thanks to their excellent presentations they won. He was always interested in music. However, he was enthused to be an attorney or a physical therapy. A part-time job in a city bakery is his very first opportunity to earn money for the family. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's song Is not She Lovely. The group was forced to break up. After the audition in The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles join the band to be named One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to join the group in 2010. The band performed songs like My Life Would Suffer Without You which was written by Kelly Clarkson, and Total Eclipse of the Heart, by Bonnie Tyler during the competition. This made the group one of the potential winners for the award. They were in third position behind Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle, who were the winners. Even though Harry Styles and his group were not crowned winners, Cowell paid a contract of 2 million pounds to One Direction to sign with the Syco Record label.
